How to Fix Low Volume in Your Earbuds

Noticed your earbuds sounding quieter than before? This is one of the most common issues and in 99% of cases it’s easy to fix.

When this applies

  • One or both earbuds sound quieter than before
  • The volume drop did not occur the first time you used them

How to fix it

Clean the mesh of your earbuds. In nearly all cases, earwax or debris blocks the speaker mesh and reduces the volume. Use a clean, dry tool (like a soft brush or a pin) to gently remove the dirt. Avoid pushing debris further inside.

If cleaning doesn’t solve the issue, try these extra steps:

  • Check the audio balance on your device (make sure left/right is centered)
  • Reset your earbuds to factory settings and pair them again

Why it happens

Over time, earwax or dust can build up in the small mesh opening of your earbuds. This blocks the sound from passing through and makes it seem like the volume is lower. The earbuds are not defect. They are fully functioning. Cleaning the mesh restores the normal sound level in almost every case.
