Earbuds Won’t Disconnect When Placed in Charging Case

If your earbuds stay connected to your phone while inside the case, the case likely isn’t telling them to turn off. This almost always happens when the case isn’t charged properly.

Your earbuds act like this:

  • Earbuds stay connected even after placing them in the case
  • Music or calls still play through the earbuds

1. Fully Charge the Case

Plug in the case with a reliable USB-C cable and charger. Watch the indicator light. It must turn on while charging. If it doesn’t, try a different cable or charger. Leave it charging for at least one hour.

In most cases, the earbuds will disconnect from your phone immediately once the case receives power. This is a good sign: it means the case can now tell the earbuds to stay off.

2. Clean the Charging Contacts

If the above didn't work, check this: Dust or dirt can stop the case from detecting the earbuds. Clean the pins in the case and the contacts on the earbuds with a dry cotton swab.
