What is the Difference Between Full In-Ear and Half In-Ear (Semi In-Ear)?

Both full in-ear and half in-ear (also called semi in-ear) describe how the earbuds sit in your ear. The difference is mainly in how deep they go and how much they seal the ear canal.

Key differences

  • Full In-Ear – Sits deep in the ear canal, uses silicone tips to create a tight seal and block outside noise
  • Half In-Ear – Rests at the entrance of the ear canal, feels more open and lets in more ambient sound

Choose full in-ear if you want maximum noise isolation and bass response. Choose half in-ear if you prefer a lighter, airier fit and still want to hear your surroundings.
